SOMEBODY STOP ME NOW

OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD.
Excuse me, I am in complete awe right now. It would seem that the announcement of Skyward Sword at E3 has gotten me on a game kick.
Any of you know about Shadow of the Colossus? Freaking ridiculous game >_> To this day I still don't know if I hated it or loved it. I thought it was stunning visually, the colossi were just... BREATHTAKING. But, I never even finished it because I couldn't beat one of those breathtaking colossi... -_-
Yea, I suck like that. I complain about Zelda being too easy, and then I get games like Shadow of the Colossus and God of War and I can't even finish them.
ANYWAY, there's a new game coming that's by the same people who created Shadow of the Colossus.
Here is the E3 trailer:
GUH. JUST. F-F-F- I don't know why I'm so amazed by this, but I am. I haven't seen something this fucking stunning in what seems like, literally, an eternity. The design, the idea. I'm totally blown away. And watching this trailer makes me want to freakin' cry and I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY. Something about the bond between human and animal always, always tugs on my heartstrings.
Now, for the woe is me part. I don't have either a PS3 or a Wii, and fuck if that puts me in a bind!!!
I'm done posting for like a month. Over and out.

Date: 2010-06-18 07:32 pm (UTC)It's even more mindblowing if you've seen the trailer of their first run with it, it's changed sooo much and that underwater scene is gorgeous and that kid is freakin' adorable afdsafdsa!!
I had the same problem with SotC, where I beat, like, three colossi and then beat myself over the head with the controller in vain trying to finish the rest. It's still such a beautiful game though, and that horse ♥ Way to have amazing animals~

Date: 2010-06-19 09:01 pm (UTC)And yesterday I watched the initial design side-by-side with what they have now, and it really is amazing to see how much it's changed. The griffin looks tons better, but I'll admit that I wasn't sure if I liked the kid better when they first started... He looked more realistic, almost?
But then I decided that I kind of like how real the griffin looks, and how almost... cartoonish the kid is. He practically glows, and it makes him look out of place in that world but also strangely ethereal. And that I like :D
I will say, though, that I think he could benefit from darker skin like the first kid. The new kid's skin has a weird tone to it.
I got up to the tenth colossus and couldn't beat him -.- I watched a video on youtube of some guy beating the colossus and he made it look like a piece of cake!

Date: 2010-07-22 03:52 pm (UTC)Holy hell when I first saw that trailer I thought it was a movie! Then I found out it was a game. The Cinematics look absolutely stunning! And that is the most unusual and unique gryphon creature (freaking adorable!) I have ever seen and as a furry that is saying a lot, since I have seen so many gryphon- type creatures in my association with the fandom.

Date: 2010-07-22 09:56 pm (UTC)I thought it was a movie too!! Its graphics are really, really amazing. I'm just sad because game consoles are so expensive, and I don't play games enough to invest in one :( I plan on getting a Wii because of the new Zelda game that's coming out (Zelda is franchise that made gaming for me, so I can't resist it), so if I'm getting a Wii, I can't afford to get a PS3 too.
The gryphon is adorable! The way it was "meowing" at him, d'awww :3

Date: 2010-07-22 11:07 pm (UTC)Zelda Twilight Princess is AWESOME! If you ever do get a Wii. I'm sure you could find it pretty cheap somewhere. Also plenty of hard core gamers have given up on theirs and some might be looking to get rid of it. Seriously, ours sat there for a good year and hasn't been touched till we decided to pick Wario Wares up again randomly.
I loved my regular NES so much when I was a kid. My biggies were any Mario game, Zelda, Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy and Metroid Ahh...nostalgia...
We had a PS3 and the fucker broke two weeks ago. It was a first generation though, so it lasted a good five years or more. The first gen had reverse compatibility so you could play your PS2 and PS 1 games on it (quality jump is so much better). From what I have heard, first gen is so much better than the current consoles, and you can still get them new, though that I bet would cost you, but at least much less than its original price.

Date: 2010-07-28 05:08 am (UTC)I have Twilight Princess for Gamecube, and even though I thought it was a good game (with really nice graphics, and a great partner in crime [Midna]), it was also my least favorite of the Zelda series. But I've only played Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and the Wind Waker because I've never really liked portable consoles and I never had an NES.
It sucks about your Playstation!!! I've had my PS2 for... gods, I don't know how long. It still works, but it always sounds like it's ready to keel over when it's loading something in a game, hahaha.
