He got his first kiss from another Arrancar (male~) who was traveling in their group. And it was around that time that Starrk had to try his hardest to put the kibosh on his reiatsu, because it always wanted to flare excitedly when the guy got affection with him.
But eventually it wore the Arrancar out -- like it wore all of them out -- and he died along with the rest of Starrk and Lilynette's friends.
