You, need to stop turning me on to characters I originally disliked (or never really thought about like that before)! :P
I saw this posted and I was all like, "...but it's Gin...." and agonized over whether to read it or not, but your writing is so very tempting. The way you handle and weave imagery into the plot, and the intensity of the scenes, and how you handle the characterizations! Fuck!
The imagery comparing Ichimaru's eyes to scabs, and their opening being picking the wound fresh again. The intense hate/shame complex driving Shuuhei to the edge, and causing him to seek the traitor out in the first place, and the fact that it is he, and no one else that he can act this way with. The blood! God the blood! Always my favorite part, and the contrast you bring of it on their pale skin, and comparing ink on his paperwork to it, like the paperwork itself is a dark deed, merely something to keep Shuuhei from facing his shame and hurt.
Just wow! The way you handle these tense and dangerous relationships! And the end! That utter dread, and cool realization, the thick of his hatred run anew, and that manipulative sly dog having seized the moment to toy with him, and the very end, making you wonder whether Gin just killed him (or is in the process of). And the imagery of Shinsou pressing against his collar and when Ichimaru grabs his hair and pulls his head back, followed by that last comment...
