Damn, you leave me speechless everytime you post a new fic!! This was really, really layered and thought provoking and complex... and wow! I had to read it a few times to get all of it, and then again, I had to do it SLOWLY so i wouldn't miss what you were telling us!
I enjoyed this second person narrative. It gets us into Shuuhei's head and we feel how fucked up he really is. It's always destructive to chase a ghost; to try and substitute warm bodies for the warmth of a kindered spirit... and you've shown us well how Shuhei suffers for it.
The best part for me was the ending, where we see Gin provoking Shuuhei with his hair-- pulling on Shuuhei's hair... only then do you drop that bomb about the Gin/Bya connection. and you hear the veiled threat in Gin's voice regarding Kensei (or blatant threat, haha!)... and all of a sudden there's a lot more tension in the room. Oh god, then more violence and blood... and yeah... this was good! :D
