I adore little Akon and the things he notices. It is possibly the only way these this pairing could ever be referred to as cute or sweet. XD But Mayuri's lack of paint in. . .certain places, and his suspiciously premeditated-looking lack of a shirt, and OH my GOD when he finally gave in and rested his face against her neck--!! My heart got so fluttery~ ♥ I had to reread that sentence like five times. ^///^
I looove the way this escalated -- the contrast between the analytical distance of Akon's thoughts and the language used to describe them. Their encounter feels so primal, a source of organic heat in such a cold, dark and sterile place -- it's so them, but. . .externally, and shows so well exactly what they are to one another without their having to say anything (audible *g*) at all.
And wee Akon himself, b'awww! I lol'd when he just plain owned up to his voyeurism, and the overall imperturbability of the 12th (though thank god it wasn't Hiyori who caught him/them XP). And I very much hope Urahara found the time before his time was up to grant his ~healthy~ boy's gigai request (gender objectivity FTFW) which deserves a fic of its own. >>
