That's such a beautiful description of Gin, and it fits my head canon for him perfectly. His strangeness draws you in and then you can't get out of it. That's the thing I like most about him.
Can you believe that I'm not even a huge fan of Gin/Rangiku? I mean I like it, but I'm not crazy about it like I am with other pairings (KenShuu). But after writing that fic with Shuuhei, I wanted to write how things were between Gin and Rangiku minus Hisagi. I think that Gin is different with Rangiku than he is with a lot of others but he's still... off with her, isn't he? Just like you said. I think that no matter who Gin is around he'll always be off because that's just who he is as a person. I can easily see Rangiku being frustrated with that because she showed as much in the manga, but at the same time she seems to accept it and continues to care for him deeply.
