Ha! Just a year ago I couldn't read het let alone write it XD But I've warmed up to it since then, and now I even like it. But your right, the problem with het is that most of it is no good. So your words are such a huge compliment!
And coming from the person who wrote "A Man's Pride" and "Pretty Girls, All in a Row"? Those two fics had to be some of the best het that I've read for this fandom, soo I'm very, very flattered :D
