Busy busy busy.
For once, I've actually been busy. And today I'm taking the test to get my driver's license. Yea I'm 19 without my license, so what. It's a long story.
Anyway I'm nervous as fuck, the DMV is by the highway so Kami-sama knows where the tester will tell me to go... I'm freaking out the most over keeping my mouth shut. When I drive with my mom I ask way too many unnecessary questions, lol. 'Should I go now?', 'Is there anyone in that lane, I can't see?'
Must refrain from asking the tester such things...
Once I get this out of the way and some other things, I'll get back to the word prompts, character meme, and comments that I've yet to respond to.
Also seems that I may have hit a small writer's block. The Kensei/Kaien fic I want to write and the next chapter of S&M have been put on the back burner for right now. I'm not sure if it's so much writer's block as my mind being preoccupied with other things. I have an original story in my head that refuses to be quiet. Me, I write original things? Yes, I do it sometimes. The link to the left (titled 'some original work') goes to my journal where I write things that aren't fanfic. I don't have much over there, especially nothing I'm proud of aside from my story Ace.
Anyway, new original story. M/m slash -- naturally. Fucked up characters -- naturally. I like writing dark things outside of fanfic, what can I say. One of the main characters -- Daren -- has a gun fetish and could possibly be schizophrenic. I say possibly because I'm still in the beginning stages of plot, and I've yet to decided if he's officially schizo or just has a vivid, highly disturbed imagination.
Then there's Angie, which is short for 'Angel' because his real name is unknown, and his origins are unknown as well. So Daren took it upon himself to name the guy, and what's more enigmatic than an angel? Besides, Dare looks at Angie and sees him with steel, rusted wings. I told you he was imaginative, heh.
Well, It's going on twelve and I need to stop messing around on the computer and start getting ready. I also need to eat something before I go. If you people never see a post from me again, go ahead and assume that I crashed on my driver's test and suffered an untimely death.
One more thing for
ms_legerdemain ! I recommended Sex/Love Pistols and totally forgot to recommend something that's even better. Miyamoto Kano is my favorite m/m slash writer ever. She has a ton of different stories, some complete and ohers that are still WIPs. I could go into detail about her style but I'll just let you find out for yourself :)
Here are some links to my favorites:
Boy Next Door (this one is relatively short)
Rules (long, and with a few different couples)
and Te Wo Tsunaide, Sora Wo (long one too, but not as long as Rules)
Enjoy!

(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-01 10:43 am (UTC)Yep, I use and love public transportation. Where I live we got trams, buses and trains in abundance, even late at night, there is no problem to get somewhere and come back home even in the wee morning hours. Thankfully, we are pretty well covered in regard to infrastructure here. If you are curious - I live in an area in Germany called the 'Ruhrgebiet' and it's this year's European cultural capital! Wohoo go us! XD
Here's a link: http://www.ruhr-tourismus.de/en.html

Date: 2010-05-02 09:40 am (UTC)I have actually never been on a bus, but I've been in cabs and on trains. You're really lucky to have all of those at your disposable! It must be less expensive than having a car, having to pay for insurance and gas and everything else.
Congratulations on being the European cultural capital! How cool :D I'll check out that link, thank you~

Date: 2010-05-02 05:16 pm (UTC)Wow, never been on a bus? I love sitting on a bus or a train and just do sight seeing trips - it's very relaxing and I usually think or plot during those times. *feels like a dork*
Yeah, I cars and their maintenance are super expensive here as well. :(
:) Thank you. This event has the nice side effect that there are so many great events, exhibitions and most of all that so many roads and old buildings etc. were repaired. :)

Date: 2010-04-30 10:07 pm (UTC)I'm 22. I don't have one either. (Though I have taken a driving test on a couple of occasions ^^;; )
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-01 10:10 am (UTC)I'm glad now, though! Because I passed XD
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-01 10:13 am (UTC)Yeah, on the one test that I did all the manoeuvres right (I'd been having trouble with the 'reversing round a corner' one), I misjudged some traffic lights ^^;; (They're ones where you turn right even though traffic coming down from the other way is allowed to go straight on at the same time). After that I dislocated my knee and I haven't been driving since so I'd have to retake my theory test now as well which not only has expired but has completely changed from when I did it.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-02 09:30 am (UTC)I almost misjudged a few traffic lights myself... but she still passed me, because I did well with my turn signals and checking all my mirrors while I drove. And despite exceeding the speed limit a few times and not stopping a little past stop signs, I did well :)
I'm sorry to hear that, though! I've seen a few of your posts about the knee. I hope it's gotten better?
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-02 10:32 am (UTC)As to the knee, well, it dislocated for the second time back in June this year and then in October it started playing up again. It seems okay at the moment, but not as good as I would like it to be :(

Date: 2010-05-01 02:23 am (UTC)Also your story sounds intriguing (and haha, I too have an original gay schizo boy whose name begins with D; must be a thing). Rusted metal wings, how beautiful. I hope it goes well for you. :)
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-01 10:14 am (UTC)I was literally grinning from ear to ear when she told me I'd passed, haha.
But no way?! That's crazy in its awesomeness. Now I'm totally interested in hearing more about your own original story >.>
I write about strange people, lol, so I'm glad that we seem to have that in common! My other story (Ace) is about a serial killer in love :)
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-01 03:17 pm (UTC)We do! And I write about those, too! Historical, though; in the only modern thing I'm tinkering with, both the hero and villain are each wildly fail at being both heroic and villainous. XD; Ace sounds awesome -- I just looked at the character descriptions and you snagged me at "white hair". *g* Serial killers, mental instability and albinism (pseudo or real) -- three of my biggest weaknesses. (Gee, can't imagine why I like Gin so damn much. . .) Definitely gonna give that a read this weekend.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-02 09:36 am (UTC)That sounds awesome *g* Is that the one with the schizo boy, or another one? And now that you mention it, Ace would look amazing as a real albino. When I wrote the story I hadn't given much thought to anything but his hair, so I hadn't officially decided on an eye color. Then I did the character profiles and just picked a color I thought would look good, lol. Red would be too fitting for him, though.
(Ah!! It is no wonder why you like Gin ;D Originally I wrote him with blue eyes because that's the shade his eyes were in one of Kubo's color spreads, but since then I've decided that I prefer the red.)
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-02 02:44 pm (UTC)Ah, no, different one -- should've said my only other modern-day story. *g*
Blue or violet eyes are common, too, depending on pigmentation strength. But you really can't beat red for a killer, true.
(There was a color spread, too -- I can't remember which one -- where Kira is shown to actually have honey-brown eyes, but as I'd already written them blue I figured I may as well make Gin's "wrong" too, wherever one color would work better than another for a story -- it's just that red and blue have always worked so far. ;) But one of these days I wanna work the aqua/hazel angle. . .)

Date: 2010-05-01 02:41 am (UTC)But I'm glad you got your liscence! xD Well done bb~!
Oooh. Cool story idea! Hope it all works out for you!

Date: 2010-05-01 10:19 am (UTC)Thank you *blushes and beams* I'm rather proud of myself XD
And pffffffft, I've been tired as hell the past few days. My mind also feels really fuzzy/preoccupied, but maybe that's just from lack of sleep. So I figure I'll get the much needed rest over the weekend, then start writing something (whether it be original or Bleach fanfic) on Monday.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-01 10:30 am (UTC)*hugs* You should be proud of yourself. xD
Urgh, same here. But that sounds like an excellent plan. I do hope it works out.

Date: 2010-05-02 09:28 am (UTC)Here, you take the written test to get your permit, and technically you're supposed to gather a certain amount of hours but they don't actually check. I think I had my permit for...a little over a year. I just practiced driving every time I went out with my mom, and then I took my driver's test! Passed it, and now I've got my license :) So all that level stuff sounds kinda excessive and ridiculous...
I don't blame you for being traumatized!!! I would be too if I had rear-ended someone ._. But thankfully I haven't hit anything... (yet >_>). The most I've done is run over a few curbs, lol XD
I am proud, thank you! It feels like one more step to becoming a full blown adult, haha.

Date: 2010-05-02 10:59 am (UTC)Well I hope that nothing like that happens to you bb. ♥
And yes, exactly. Well done! ^__^

Date: 2010-05-03 12:25 am (UTC)You haven't driven since then? So a whole year? Get out there and drive again! It really is something when you get your license. It's worth all the trauma of first learning, trust me :)
Btw that Renji icon is just AMAZING.

Date: 2010-05-03 09:28 am (UTC)I know, I know. Urgh. I keep telling myself to, but I just can't for some reason. And then I get so busy. It is generally a shitty situation. :(
Thank you! Yeah, I was looking through my saved icon collection, and I knew that I had to use it. *glomps Renji*

Date: 2010-05-04 05:09 am (UTC)Does this mean you have an Australian accent?!
Ugh, I've had a migraine all day and can barely think straight. It's like I'm only half conscious right now. So apologies in advance.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-04 02:31 pm (UTC)LOL, yeah, I guess it does. Hopefully a nice one though.
No apologies needed. *snuggles* I hope you feel much better very soon. *sends love and healing vibes*
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-05 06:13 pm (UTC)I'm not the type of person who's into accents (I lived in a foreign country for at least five years, and I learned to hate accents) but for some reason you just got ten times more adorable!
Thank you for the love and healing vibes. I'm feeling better now =^_^=
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-06 04:56 am (UTC)I kinda love other accents, but not really my own, or other Australian accents so I'm glad that I just got 10 times cuter to you. :S
And yay! Really glad you're feeling better! xD
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-06 07:59 am (UTC)I totally understand though, I don't think my own accent is anything special at all. You just get used to it yourself, but other people might like that.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-06 02:29 pm (UTC)Hmm, well my dad has a strong accent, not an Australian one, so I dunno. They're part of my life I guess. I like 'em. :P

Date: 2010-05-01 02:38 pm (UTC)Get some sleep and dream of hot boys. Don't worry about fun memes...I still have to do yours too! I have a crazy work schedule this week so I'm a bit held up on mine as well.

Date: 2010-05-02 12:14 am (UTC)Damn for writer's block over Kensei/Kaien. Writer's block is just generally a bitch. I find it most furstrating when you have ideas/inspiration, but no motivation to actually write. So annoying. That original story idea sounds awesome though. The more fucked up the better. :p
Thankyou for the recs! I've read Rules (I loved it), but I haven't read the other two. ♥ Now I have something to look forward to when I get home tonight.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-02 02:49 am (UTC)Guh, I know. It's either as you said, or it's the other way round. In which I am motivated and want to write, but I can't think of any good ideas. These seems to be a case of both, which is odd... With S&M (you don't read that one, do you? I can't remember) I know what I want to write but I'm not motivated enough to do it. And with my Kensei/Kaien I am motivated, but I can't think of how to start it or where to take it.
I adore Rules *g* Miyamoto Kano puts so much emotion into it, I like her quirky sense of humor, and I also like that her characters are far from perfect. I hope you enjoy the other stories I linked! This weekend I plan on getting through all of her work.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-02 11:05 pm (UTC)Exactly. I get so damn frustrated. I have these epic ideas, and then no motivation, or I really want to write but the words just don't seem to want to flow. I did start reading S&M (I should comment, fail me, sorry :S), and I really like it, though Grimmjow and Akon aren't really my favourite characters. Still, you write them so wickedly well I find myself enjoying it immensely. Mmm, I'm the same with Byakuya/Kaien, I want to write it but...it's just not quite working for me atm.
Tehe, yes, I loved it too. I like the imperfect character as well.
I also like the absence of uber-ukes.That sounds like an excellent weekend plan. xD(no subject)
Date: 2010-05-04 05:06 am (UTC)Ah, it's ok! I know that Grimmjow isn't really a favorite for a lot of people, and neither is Akon. But I'm glad that you still enjoy the story :)
I wish you luck on your Byakuya/Kaien!
Hahaha yea, that's one of the main reasons I like her stories too. The 'semes' and 'ukes' look pretty similar, so much so that there's really no telling who's gonna end up on top. That keeps it kind of exciting.
Sorry if I sound a little out of it, I've been sick all day
