Time For Some Tunes

Hokay. I got crafty today. I haven't posted much lately (or at least not anything of use)... My writing is lackluster; not for lack of ideas, but for lack of motivation. I'm not sure what my issue is at this point but whatever. I've noticed for a while now that listening to certain songs puts certain pictures in my head of certain characters. Yes, it's all very CERTAIN. Anyway I decided to keep myself busy by making a soundtrack 8D 

YAY MUSIC! 

I ended up having a lot of songs so I broke it into two discs... This is my first time zipping a file and trying to upload it, so let me know if the links/files work, ok? 

Disc One @SENDSPACE

The order might be all messed up once you've downloaded the songs, so I'm going to put the correct sequence here: 

01.  "I Like Pretending"  by IAMX -- How did I hear this song? The lovely foxflare . It's an awesome song, and I immediately thought that it'd be a nice theme for my Redemption 'verse. All the boys love pretending.
02.  "Sonne"  by Rammstein -- This song is just epic. The beginnings of GrimmAkon, their love relationship blooming within the shadowed laboratories of the 12th, beneath the glimmering green light illuminating from subject jars.
03.  "Big Man [Transient Mix]"  by Nine Inch Nails -- GRIMMJOW FUCKING JEAGERJAQUES!!
04.  "Whatever (I Had a Dream)"  by Butthole Surfers --  MORE GRIMMJOW FUCKING JEAGERJAQUES!  He has a dream, and it ends with you eating his fist.
05.  "20 Dollar"  by M.I.A. -- Akon enjoys this song -- especially when he's high.
06.  "Sacred Stones"  by Sheila Chandra -- The horned shinigami creeping between operating tables, tweaking this and that of the patients as he wanders by, ignoring their pained whimpers. Or his death, the 12th being reduced to ruins during a surprise hollow attack; Akon's broken body fading to nothing beneath the debris, and Grimmjow's enraged roar.
07.  "Svefn-G-Englar"  by Sigur Ros -- Yea, Grimmjow and Akon have a slow song. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
08.  "Strange Days"  by Syntax -- Smoking and fucking.  Then some more fucking, and some more smoking.
09.  "Teach Me Tiger"  by April Stevens -- .... HOW COULD I NOT PUT THIS ON HERE?!  Are they completely fucking trashed, or does Akon just have a more disturbing sense of humor than we realized? 
10.  "Rude Boy"  by Rihanna -- Yes Abarai Renji loves this song and he ain't ashamed. And Starrk very much enjoys each hip twist at BOOM BOOM BOOM.
11.  "November Has Come"  by Gorillaz -- Because the redhead is gangsta, yo.
12.  "Scooby Snacks"  by Fun Lovin' Criminals -- Because he's even more gangsta now than he was just two seconds ago.
13.  "Exit"  by U2 -- FFFFF most perfect song for Coyote Starrk ever. Go read the lyrics because I demand it. And who could that cryin' dog be, howling at the wind? EH?
14.  "The Riverside Massacre"  by Dj Titch -- Long story... Renji happens by something that he shouldn't have ever happened by... He should leave right then and there and try to erase the image from his mind, but how could he? The Primera Espada kneeling on the floor of Ukitake-taichou's office, naked and with his arms stretched overhead, white blindfold around his eyes. And is that...Shunsui Kyoraku coming up behind him, just as naked and with his curly hair unbound, spilling over broad shoulders? Oh for the love of all that is fucking sacred and holy.
Ok, c'mon, you know that WAH--WAH--WAH--WAH that starts at 53 seconds is soooo porntastic.
15.  "Here Comes Another One"  by Groove Terminator -- The song I was listening to the first time Starrk decided to fight Renji back. The 6th Division fukutaichou really hadn't anticipated just how damned fast the Primera was, and he was becoming winded just from trying to keep a safe distance. But he miscalculated and ended up with one knee on the ground, and the next thing he knew Coyote Starrk was standing directly behind him. One of those gloved hands shot out to grab the shinigami's hair, twisting those blood-red strands around leather-clad fingers... And all Renji could do was stare wide-eyed as Starrk powered a cero from his chest, building just inches away from the redhead's stunned face.

Disc Two @SENDSPACE

01.  "36 Degrees"  by Placebo -- Look up the lyrics and try to tell me that this song isn't Hisagi Shuuhei.
02.  "Battle for the Sun"  by Placebo -- Kazeshini is a black and heavy weight, and Shuuhei refuses to participate.
03.  "Left My Heart in Tokyo"  by Mini Viva -- Yes, I know. It sounds ridiculously upbeat and poppy, but I just can't stop seeing Shuuhei when I listen to it. It may sound cheerful, but the words are full of cynicism... HE LEFT HIS HEART IN RUKONGAI TOKYO. I have a thing for Shuuhei in drag, specifically geisha drag after this one picture xglimpsex sent me... So in an AU realm I like to imagine Shuuhei as the pretty boy in geisha drag, using the distraction to cover up the fact that he is really an assassin. Yea, I really think these things >_>
04.  "When You Were Young"  by the Killers -- This song speaks to my Shuuhei.
05.  "Closer"  by Kings of Leon -- Muguruma Kensei. Listen to the lyricssssssss
06.  "Ambition"  by Doves -- Kensei x Shuuhei. This song is unbelievably sad to me for some reason, and I always want to cry when I listen to it ;_;
07.  "B" by Iamamiwhoami--  A Byakuya x Gin song... You don't want to know what I envision for them while listening to this. Or do you?
08.  "The Widow"  by Mars Volta -- My theme song for Kira Izuru. Oh, the anguish in the singer's voice just gives me chills.
09.  "The New Flesh"  by Nine Inch Nails -- Another Kira song, overcome with creeping torment...
10.  "Pretty When You Cry"  by Vast -- Gin x Kira. Told from Gin's perspective, and of course he's pretty when he lies, the same way that Izuru is pretty when he cries...
11.  "I Am the Body Beautiful"  by Salt-n-Pepa -- Ok how could I NOT think of Ayasegawa Yumichika when listening to this song? Oh, he's just so seductive in my mind.
12.  "Baby's on Fire"  by the Venus In Furs -- This song is actually quite random now that I listen to it again...
13.  "Prince Charming"  by Adam & the Ants -- A Yumichika song, respectively. It's just so him. (Can you tell that I'm getting tired at this point? I'm less descriptive with every passing moment...) 
14.  "Save Yourself"  by Stabbing Westward -- Yumichika x Kira. Want to guess which one of them is the singer? 
15.  "Demon Days"  by Gorillaz -- A nice little song to wrap up the series, no?

16. "Local God"  by Everclear-- Kick ass song is kick ass. Picture this. The Bleach boys in a Romeo + Juliet setting. You know, the actual movie of 1996, with Leonardo Dicaprio and Claire Danes. Now picture this: Grimmjow Jeagerjaques, Coyote Starrk, and Muguruma Kensei as Montagues. On the flip side, Akon, Hisagi Shuuhei, and Abarai Renji as Capulets. Who do you think is Romeo, eh? Who is Juliet??

Ok it is officially 3:11 am, and sleep is calling... I hope the downloads work, and that all of you enjoy!! You'll see that my taste in music is all over the board... So something in there for everyone? Yes, no?

I thought Mayuri 'cause I had a brief flash of Szayel as Lady Capulet in the Cleopatra get-up with Mayuri leering nearby, and he (Szayel) leaning in all conspiratorially close to Starrk, "A man, young lady, such a man!" XDDD Terrifying sounds about right. But Gin and Aizen seem like they would better fill the "mom and dad" roles. . .
If Akon's Paris, though, who would be the third Montague? Kira? ("Introduction to Romeo"/"Talk Show Host" by Radiohead from the soundtrack are two more of my Kira songs, haha.) Ikkaku could be the bald one. . .or Iba? Iba could do with some more love. . .

Oh nonono, lol. I can plot/parallel with maniacal abandon but my follow-through is utter crap. (And if anyone could somehow fit Yumi and Renji together, it'd be you -- but that they don't at all could play into how hopeless and unrequited they are.)

AHA!! To imagine Szayel saying that to Starrk while dressed up as Cleopatra... It's almost too much XD That's pure hilarity right there and I'll probably dream of it when I go to bed tonight.

Hmmm... how many Montagues are there? I remember Romeo having that cousin whose name started with a B. I can't think of it right now, but he was the more serious one so I thought Shuuhei could be him? Kira could be that guy too.

No way!! With your kickass creativity, awesome characterization, and mind-blowing writing skills you could do just about anything. TOO HUMBLE, YOU ARE. "And if anyone could somehow fit Yumi and Renji together, it'd be you" Oh poppycock. I don't think even I could manage making Renji/Yumi plausible... Though Yumichika will admit that Renji is good-looking, and the redhead says likewise.

(So I listened to the songs and Gabriel is my favorite of the two. That song is just gorgeous and I've listened to it at least 20 times today. It is very KenShuu; I might even dub it my theme song for them)

There were two more aside from Benvolio the cousin, but outside of the gas station scene they didn't do much. And yeah, Shuuhei's a good fit for Ben -- he'll fight in a brawl but doesn't want to. And then there's Balthasar, Romeo's servant (although I wanna say he was a compassionate Capulet in the film -- they had the servants all mixed up there) who brings word of Juliet's "death" to Romeo in Mantua (Kensei playing halfsies between Shinigami and Hollow?).

Um, do you see that two-year-old, 150000-word WIP sitting over yonder? Yeah. It is oneshots only until that's a lot closer to finished. I write at the speed of smell. :P And if not Yumi as Mercutio. . .what about Ichigo? Okay, envisioning him performing in drag is kind of a stretch, but he's between both worlds, is rivals with Grimmjow, and has lots more believable UST with Renji than Yumi does. Or maybe Shinji?

(*happy pandas* Awesome. I love how that one can go both ways. Either could be singing it to the other -- although it does incite particular images of Shuuhei on guitar. ;)

I write this story in my head, srsly. Other than that I doubt it'll ever see the light of day. But it's fun to plot-storm. butterflygirl_3 suggested Ichigo too for Mercutio!!! Yea it's hard imagining him being in drag... well, I can see someone forcing him into it, but he'd be full of deadly scowls instead of enjoying it like Mercutio. I do like the idea of it though because you're right, he does have that feud with Grimmjow the same way that Mercutio had one with Tybalt. And Grimm would finally get to kill the orange-haired brat XD Almost forgot about Shinji, now that... That is a great idea *g*

Are you talking about Brown Leaf Vertigo? You've been writing that for two years?! Damn, I was under the weird impression that you'd just started it. I'd say you've gotten pretty far though, 18 chapters! Whenever I go for something huge in fanfic, I always get stuck around the tenth chapter. I wouldn't worry about writing at the speed of smell, haha. I'm slow at writing myself, or at least I am lately.

(That's why I love that song for them, the lyrics fit both Kensei and Shuuhei. Though I tend to think of Shuuhei when listening to it just because he's stronger in my head. I like to envision him singing it [my personal head canon for Shuuhei is that he has a nice voice] to Byakuya.)

It is fun. *grins* And I'm kind of in love now with the idea of Shinji on a beach, screaming "A PLAGUE ON BOTH YOUR HOUSES!!" with that look he gave Aizen after Hiyori got sliced. He's got the flamboyance and wit, and the Vizored do despise both sides of the battle. . .they just hate Aizen's more.

Two years in May. Sad, ain't it? Lol. The big delay lately has been that I'm trying to write Hitsugaya for the first time, and. . .well. . .he's boring as shit I can't quite get him to flow. >:| But it'll get there. The song "I'm Never Gonna Give You Up" springs to mind. Sigh. And, erm, I really hope your tenth chapter itch doesn't apply to Smoke & Mirrors -- I think you said there were still three or four chapters of that to go?

(Mmm. . .*enjoys mental image* I have a Shuuhei that plays guitar/sings backup in a band, if he ever sees the light of day. He's way too bashful to take the lead, but he writes half the songs. Now I've got this image of the lights going down in the club, and he takes center stage for the first time with an acoustic and a much-practiced cover, knowing that a particular someone is in the audience. . .)

I'm kind of in love with that idea too! It'd be pretty comical, Shinji dying in Renji's arms, damning both houses. Why am I so pleased with this image?

HMM. Yea, Hitsugaya is someone I've never really gotten into. It's weird to me that he seems to be so popular with a lot of fandom... I mean he's ok, but he's nothing to write home about. Maybe you could... depend on another character to liven things up, if he's making it boring? I remember thinking that his exchange with Hiyori in the manga was pretty fuckin' hilarious.

Yea, it's Smoke and Mirrors. It just isn't flowing for me right now... But I'm not going to freak out (just yet) because it's only been a month... I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping that I'll have a grand awakening one of these days. And at the moment I'm working on a Halibel + Matusmoto fic!

( !!!! Could the mystery guest be KENSEI, by any chance? *wiggles* I'm assuming that this is over a different realm from your BLV? Considering you've shipped Shuuhei with Yumi in that one XD)

Somehow I see Shinji dying like Peewee Herman in the original Buffy movie -- lots of histrionic coughing and hacking and twitching, then stillness, then springing up for another round of melodramatic death throes, and Renji's just sitting there, tears poised, waiting for him to finish, wondering if wrinkles are gonna set in first. . .

FFFFF. I'd forgotten about his interaction with Hiyori, that's the most he's entertained me in a long time. Unfortunately she's unavailable in the fic, but I think you may be onto something there. Maybe I've been making him too mature and laconic, he doesn't have all those years under his belt yet. . .he was pretty mouthy the first time he met Matsumoto, too. . .hmmm. . .

Yeah, it's no good forcing it. . .although sometimes it helps (me, anyway), if stepping away doesn't recharge things, to just write it regardless, with the expectation that it's not going to work and it will be crap, but you can't tailor a naked dummy. Some things can only be rewritten, and the freedom of apathy can help to keep burn-out at bay.
Or yeah, just write something else for a while. ;) Hallibel + Matsumoto?? Sounds like Hitsugaya's worst nightmare. All I can think is Boob Sammich, hahaha. I'm madly curious, though -- they could play so well off each other in myriad ways. . .

(Mi~ght~ XD Yeah, 's different. Motorcycles and music and, um, an unhealthy amount of glitter. But that's what happens when Yumichika is your stylist.)

Oh god, that is pure win. Now I can't stop thinking about that scene from Shrek 2...or was it Shrek 3? With the dying frog, and it kept doing what you just described with Peewee Herman. This is the best fic idea that I've ever plotted with someone.

He also yelled "Bed-wetter Momo!!" at Hinamori before she went to the Academy XD So if I were in your shoes, I'd draw on his more comedic side. Just to inject some life into it since he's bringing the mood down.

My problem is that... well, I never have plans when writing multi-chapter. I swear to god I wrote a timeline for S&M from beginning to end when I first started, but it went to shit because Grimmjow and Akon just do whatever the hell they want. There is little I can say about it T_T So I kind of just go with whatever comes to me... and I have tried writing the chapter--five times. Seriously, I've written and rewritten it at least five times at this point. So now I'm just... not even going to waste my time until it comes to me on its own.

I finished the Halibel + Matsumoto in just a few hours! It's posted now :3 It's gen and just for fun but... I really like how it came out.

(LOVE. I hope the idea sees paper and not just the inside of your skull... It would be great :D)
